We have a SJGC walking group that meets in the back of the VTA lot near Winfield
and Coleman, behind Almaden Lake Village Apartments, 1045 Coleman Road, San
Jose, CA 95123. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a bottle of water, and join
us for a walk on the paved Lake Almaden trail. We’re back in the lot about 10 am.

Furyu Floral Designers invite you to watch Janice Hamlin (coming all the way from
Florida) show us how she manipulates commonly used plant materials into
unusual forms for creative floral designs. $15 in advance, $20 at the door. First

• March 13 - March Meeting - Gardens You Have Visited: Katie is doing our March program and will
be showing pictures from gardens around the world. Please send her 5-10
pictures of gardens you have visited and enjoyed. She says anything that attracts
your eye; individual flower pictures or overall scenes are fine.

• March 20-25 - San Francisco Garden Show, San Mateo Fairgrounds.
For every advance discounted ticket sold, our club/district will earn $2 with an
additional $1 being donated to the CGCI. The 2012 theme is Gardens for a Green
Earth with 20 display gardens, over 70 seminars, edible gardens, etc.

Meet at 10:00 a.m. at Stanford University’s Rodin Sculpture Garden for a walking tour. Docent Iris Berke will guide us through several gardens and other outdoor attractions of the
campus. We will celebrate our club’s 40th anniversary this month.

• May 5 - Our Plant Sale: We would like everyone to help with this. If you can,
please grow or propagate plants for our big fundraiser. If you don’t have a green
thumb, we will need volunteers for a few days around that date. Contact: Natalie.
